Educating the Whole Child & Building Strong Foundations
Hi Kinder Parents!
Welcome to St. Patrick School! My name is Suzanne Smith (Mrs. Smith), and I have been the Kindergarten teacher here for the last 16 years. However, I have been a teacher for 44 years ( I know - I'm old!). This will be my 24th year teaching Kindergarten. My other 20 years were spent teaching various combinations of 2nd - 8th Grade. I absolutely love being a Kindergarten teacher! It's my favorite grade to teach because ! love the innocence and enthusiasm of 5 and 6 year olds. :)
I graduated from UC Berkeley in 1978. I am married and have 3 amazing chiildren - Jessica (40), Cole (36), and Hillary (33). Besides being the Kindergarten teacher at St. Patrick School, I also coach the JV and Varsity Dance teams at Carondelet High School in Concord with Jessica (who is also the Director of Admissions at Carondelet). Cole is a Naval Academy (Annapolis) graduate and is currently living in San San Francisco where he works for a company called JLL (Global Commercial Real Estate Services/Investment Management). My youngest daughter, Hillary, graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in 2011. She completed her Master's Degree Program in Global Health at the University of Copenhagenl and is cuurently living in San Francisco and works at a wonderful non-profit organization called One Heart Worldwide. All of them are happily married and live nearby, so we spend lots of time together and love going on family vacations with each other.
Although I LOVE being a teacher and a mother, I must admit there is nothing better than being a grandmother! I have 3 beautiful and amazing granddaughters (Natalie-8, Cameron-3, and Adelina-3) and one grandson Baby Charlie (1) and they are the absolute light of my life! Words cannot truly express how grateful I am for all of these blessings in my life.
I am looking forward to the upcoming school year, and I am confident that it will be a memorable and wonderful experience for all of us! If you ever have any questions or concerns, please let me know.
XO,
Mrs. Smith
