Kindergarten

- Mrs. Smith
  
  Welcome to St. Patrick School! My name is Mrs. Smith, and I have been the Kindergarten teacher here for the last 16 years, and I have been a teacher for 44 years. I have taught at all grade levels Kindergarten through eighth grade, but Kindergarten is my favorite!
  
  I am a proud graduate of UC Berkeley and a proud wife, mother, and grandmother with my grandchildren currently in attendance at St. Patrick School. Outside of the classroom, I also coach the JV and Varsity dance teams at Carondelet High School.
  
  I am looking forward to the upcoming school year, and I am confident that it will be a memorable and wonderful experience for all of us! If you ever have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

  Language Arts: Super Kids Reading Program. Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Decoding Skills, Vocabulary and Grammar, Comprehension, Fluency, Accuracy, Spelling. Common Core aligned.
  
  Math: Engage New York. Numbers to 10, Two-Dimensional and 3-Dimensional Shapes, Comparison of Length, Weight, Capacity, and Numbers to 10, Addition and Subtraction to 10, Numbers 10 to 20, Count to 100 by Ones and Tens, Analyzing, Comparing, and Composing Shapes. Common Core aligned.
  
  Science: Mystery Science. Plants and Animal Secrets, Wild Weather, Circle of Seasons, Sunny Skies, Force Olympics. Next Generation Science Standards aligned.
  
  Social Studies. SAVAAS: My World Interactive. Reasons for rules, good citizens, state and national symbols, different types of jobs, community workers past and present, continents, map symbols, how things have changed over time. Common Core aligned.
  
  Religion: Be My Disciple. God Gave Us the World, God Knows and Loves Us, Jesus Is God's Own Son, God Gave Us Our Church Family, We Live As Friends of Jesus, We Celebrate Holy Days and Holidays. Diocese of Oakland Standards aligned.
  
  PE: Five days a week.
